Our very popular Christmas Fair offers free entry to crafts, gifts, decorations, fine foods and drink, something for everyone! Over 160 stalls are sprawled across the Stables Visitor Centre, Grand Pavilion, outdoor areas and within Hylands House, whilst entertainment is provided throughout the day.
See the House and Stables lit up after dusk and take in the festive atmosphere with a hot toddy.

Essex Boot camp have vigorous exercise sessions at various parks in Chelmsford. These run continuously throughout the year, at Beaulieu Park (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), Hylands Park (Saturday) and Admirals Park (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday).

The Safaris are an opportunity for children to enjoy a guided exploration at Hylands along with others of a similar age. In Andrea Neale’s workshop you will work with various beads and charms to create eye-catching custom jewellery. The workshop is fun, creative and focused on design. You will make a piece of jewellery in colours and beads of your choice. You will work with basic tools, beads and finds and be shown how to make your own components. Enamelling professional, Toni Peers, will teach you all you need to know to get started. Enamelling is the use of a kiln to fuse powdered glass to metal, and can make lovely jewellery. In this workshop, you will learn to apply different glass media, such as Millefiori beads, fine glass rods, crystal enamel and frit glass, which can be ‘swirled’ in the kiln to create marbling effects. Expect to produce up to three enamelled pieces.
