All Fired Up

To celebrate the launch of our new exhibition of fire fighting in Essex since the Victorian times, Chelmsford Museum are hosting a special event. The event will feature three vintage fire appliances and a number of modern vehicles, and visitors can also check out the exhibition, which runs from 9 July to 4 September.

Wildlife Fun Day

The very popular family fun day is here again with a lively mix of activities.

 

See and handle, if you dare, live snakes, lizards and large spiders.  

 

Make candles with the Essex beekeepers; try fossil rubbing and other crafts.

 

We have stands for the RSBP and Ferret Rescue Society; who bring along their ferrets and not forgetting the owls.

Easter Drop in Event Day

Come along to our Easter Event and try as many or few activities as you like, wristbands are £3.00 per child.

 

Activities include making a Bunny Bookmark, create and Easter Egg Holder, Make some Bunny Ears or a cute Easter Chick.

 

There will be a free activity making Origami Easter Bunnies.

 

The park outside provides the perfect place to run around in afterwards with two play areas, plenty of green areas to play and picnic benches for lunch.

British Science Weekend

For British Science Weekend Sandford Mill will be open for all the family to enjoy.

 

Using our hands on equipment visitors will be able to experience sound, forces, electricity and many more as they make their way around the trails across the 32 acre site.

 

How does sound work? What makes the lightbulb light up? Are bigger wheels better than small wheels and what design works best on an aircraft? These are all questions you'll be able to answer at the end of British Science Weekend.
